Journalists of Orlando Sentinel Win Union Vote

Group toughed out delays to win with more than 80% of the vote

May 12, 2020 – Journalists at the Orlando Sentinel won a resounding victory Tuesday, voting 36-8 to form the Sentinel Guild.The vote will give photographers, reporters, editors, columnists and staff a voice at work and the right to negotiate with Tribune Publishing, the newspaper’s Chicago-based parent company. Omaha World Herald staffers vote unanimously to ratify first contract

May 12, 2020 – Members of the Omaha World Herald Guild voted unanimously to ratify their first collective bargaining agreement on May 1, winning a 2 percent on Oct. 1, 2020, a 1 percent raise on April 1, 2022, and an immediate raise for a subset of employees based on new pay scales in the agreement.
