Feb. 23, 2018 – Newsroom employees at the Los Angeles Times voted 248-44 to join The NewsGuild-CWA in January, ending 136 years of unfettered rule by management. Feb. 7, 2018 – A majority of the newsroom staff of the Casper Star-Tribune, Wyoming’s statewide newspaper, filed cards with the National Labor Relations Board to begin the process of forming a union, the Casper News Guild Organizing Committee announced on Feb. 6.

Ballot Counting Set for Jan. 19 in L.A. Times Union Vote
Jan. 5, 2018 – After 136 years in business, the Los Angeles Times saw its first union election on Jan. 4, with more than 200 employees voting. Dec. 29, 2017 – Employees at Lambda Legal voted 42-8 on Dec. 29 in favor of forming a union at the nation’s oldest and largest legal organization that fights for the civil rights of LGBTQ people and people living with HIV. Eligible staff in all six regional offices, including lawyers, fundraisers, communication and administrative and support staff will be members of The NewsGuild-CWA as part of the Washington-Baltimore News Guild Local.
