Bernie Lunzer

“I am deeply humbled by my re-election,” Lunzer said. “There is important work to do and we can only do it together. I call on everyone to build unity and I look forward to working with all members. We need to focus on expanding on historic organizing, getting fair contracts, improving communications for our members and working with allies on securing the future for journalism itself.

“Jon Schleuss did the union a favor in causing this dialogue about the future of the Guild. We will schedule several digital town halls for members to discuss plans that are already in the works. There’s a reason that the Guild is a bottom-up, democratic culture. I can’t thank you enough for your continued faith in my leadership. In the next four years we will especially focus on the future of media workers within CWA. We can’t be stopped because we are on the right side of history.”

Jon Schleuss

Schleuss said, “I am proud of the campaign I ran. I feel absolutely privileged to have connected with so many members in such a short amount of time. I am grateful for all the support I received from our members in the United States and Canada. I am still reviewing the results and the procedures around this election and will speak more about it soon.”
