Lambda Legal Employees: ‘We Did It’

Dec. 29, 2017 – Employees at Lambda Legal voted 42-8 on Dec. 29 in favor of forming a union at the nation’s oldest and largest legal organization that fights for the civil rights of LGBTQ people and people living with HIV. Eligible staff in all six regional offices, including lawyers, fundraisers, communication and administrative and support staff will be members of The NewsGuild-CWA as part of the Washington-Baltimore News Guild Local. Lawsuit Claims Hundreds of Employers Illegally Excluded Older Americans from Job Ads on Facebook

Dec. 21, 2017 – The Communications Workers of America and three workers filed a class-action lawsuit against T-Mobile, Amazon, Cox and hundreds of other large employers charging they illegally excluded older workers from receiving job ads on Facebook for positions at their companies.

CWA-Represented Workers at AT&T to Get $1,000 Bonus

Dec. 21, 2017 – Following discussions with AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson, CWA President Chris Shelton reported that CWA-represented workers at AT&T will receive a $1,000 bonus. The announcement follows a union campaign to demand that CEOs increase workers’ pay in response to claims by GOP leaders that their corporate tax cut would result in pay increases of $4,000 per year.

Guild Reaches First-of-its-Kind Agreement with GateHouse

Updated Dec. 21, 2017 to reflect that 2018 benefits and premiums will remain at current levels, whether employees’ premiums are currently based on 2017 levels or 2016 levels.
