Statement by The NewsGuild-CWA on the death of Brent Renaud:
“We condemn the death of American journalist Brent Renaud — and numerous other innocents — in Vladimir Putin’s war of aggression against the people of Ukraine.
“As a journalist and documentary filmmaker, Renaud often rushed to danger. In times of war and crisis he sought to report the truth to the world, to hold the powerful to account and to tell the stories of everyday people.
“His tragic death is a loss to freedom-loving people the world over.”
