PHILADELPHIA – Lawyers representing the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette struggled to explain to a panel of judges why they should be exempt from federal labor law in two consecutive sets of oral arguments on Monday afternoon in the U.S. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Communications Workers of America (CWA) union, representing public media workers at local stations for NPR and PBS across the country and non-editorial workers at the national headquarters of NPR and PBS, has condemned President Trump’s unlawful executive order impeding the freedom of the press for local public TV and radio stations receiving funding through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).

Striking Journalists Maintain Digital Picket Lines with Solidarity from Readers and Former Colleagues

PITTSBURGH – Today, the Communications Workers of America (CWA) union announced that striking production and advertising workers at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (PG) have accepted a buyout offer after the newspaper outsourced production of its print edition to the Butler Eagle, eliminating 31 union jobs in Allegheny County. Journalists and newsroom staff represented by the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh (TNG-CWA Local 38061) remain on strike.
