Indivisible Union wins voluntary recognition

March 16, 2020 – Members of the Indivisible Union won voluntary union on March 13 following a “card check,” where 46 of 48 employees indicated support forming the union. They will become members of the Washington-Baltimore Local 32035 of The NewsGuild-CWA. The cards were certified by Arbitrator Herb Fishgold.

The Indivisible Project was established to support the thousands of grassroots groups that are fighting for progressive change. A supermajority of employees in Washington D.C. and across the country filed a union election announced their intention to unionize on Feb. 26.

“The values that have guided the work of Indivisible are the same values that inspired the formation of this union,” they said in a press statement issued at the time. “In just a few years, Indivisible transformed from a concise guide to help people resist the Trump administration into an organization that, through its grassroots activists, is successfully pushing for lasting progressive change at all levels of government. The union is a continuation of this work.”
