WASHINGTON – The workers of Chemical & Engineering News, the independent magazine of the American Chemical Society, have overwhelmingly voted to unionize, with 96% of participants voting in favor of the union, Chemical & Engineering News Guild. Workers at the magazine announced the union campaign earlier this year.

WASHINGTON – The workers of Chemical & Engineering News, the independent magazine of the American Chemical Society, have announced the formation of the Chemical & Engineering News Guild. The majority of Chemical & Engineering News’ union-eligible staffers have signed cards indicating their desire to form a collective bargaining unit and become part of the Washington Baltimore News Guild, The NewsGuild-CWA. The guild is seeking voluntary recognition from the American Chemical Society, CE&N’s parent employer.
