RAICES Workers Union Ratifies First Contract

After two years of negotiations, workers at RAICES —  the largest immigration services provider in Texas — have ratified their first collective bargaining agreement.

RAICES Workers Union is affiliated with The Washington Baltimore News Guild, Local 32035 of TNG/CWA.

Highlights of the contract include:

  • Guaranteed wage increases and an increased wage floor
  • Parental leave increased from six to ten weeks
  • 100% employer covered medical insurance premiums
  • Just cause
  • Professional development pay
  • And more!

RAICES staff unionized in 2021.

“This is our attempt to correct those wrongs, and truly make RAICES the beacon of hope it’s always promised to be for its staff, clients, and the immigrant community at large that it serves,” the staff union said in a statement at the time.

“In our search for immigrants’ rights, worker rights are just as valid and necessary to help us continue the important labor that we do as RAICES – especially – now, at such a crucial moment in history.”
